Astro-Tech 8mm Series 6 wide field eyepiece
The 8mm Astro-Tech 1.25” Series 6 eyepiece uses a fully multicoated four element/three group optical design for a wide 60° field of view and good field edge performance combined with reasonable eye relief – all at a very economical price. It works well for high magnification lunar and planetary observing, for splitting binary stars, resolving globular clusters, picking up small planetary nebulas against a stellar background, etc.

Astro-Tech 12mm Series 6 wide field eyepiece
The 12mm Astro-Tech 1.25” Series 6 eyepiece is a fully multicoated four element/three group optical design. It gives you a wide 60° field of view, good field edge performance, reasonable eye relief, and a very economical price. It provides a good match of an 8” Schmidt-Cassegrain’s resolving power to the resolving power of your eye for exceptional lunar and planetary detail, resolving globular clusters, picking up detail in smaller galaxies, etc.

Astro-Tech 17mm Series 6 wide field eyepiece
The 17mm 1.25” Astro-Tech Series 6 is a good quality four element/three group eyepiece with a wide 65° field of view. It lets you explore expansive deep space vistas at only a fraction the cost of exotic wide field designs. It’s great for filling the gap between the lower power eyepiece supplied with most telescopes and a high power lunar/planetary eyepiece. The low price makes it a very affordable wide-field choice to buy in pairs for binoviewer use.

Astro-Tech 20mm Series 6 wide field eyepiece
The 20mm Astro-Tech Series 6 is a good medium power/wide field (65°) 1.25” fully multicoated four element/three group eyepiece at a very little price. While it’s particularly well-suited for low power use with Dobsonian scopes and short focal length refractors, it can provide “picture window onto space” images with any telescope type. The low price of this eyepiece also makes it a very affordable choice to buy in pairs for binoviewer use.
